Worthless on iPhone 3G

Used to work just fine. Still works on iPad. But iPhone just shows the background and buttons for "new", "hint", and "I". Tracing the screen shows the bubble. Choosing either "new" or "hint" does NOTHING! Choosing "I" provides the standard menu.
